How to Advocate For Your AFS organization: Easy proven strategies to make your voice heard on key education, visa and other important issues.
Advocacy, what is it?
It's establishing relations with external organizations, educational institutions, policy makers to change the conditions AFS operates and/or further promoting AFS mission.
Advocacy is needed to reach the AFS Vision 2020 objective ‘We are recognized as an educational organization by schools and the appropriate authorities. We work to create a regulatory environment that supports our programs’. There are external conditions that influence the reach of AFS, such as visas, funding, recognition of the stay abroad by schools, recognition of the soft skills gained through the exchange experience and many others.
Through this one day course participants will learn how to change these external conditions through advocacy by identifying international policy documents that can support their cause and defining the target and level of their actions.
During this one-day training event participants will learn about:

This training is targeted at volunteers and staff members that are involved (or would like to be) in strategic external relations.
