Are you a Qualified Trainer of the AFS Intercultural Link Learning Program, AFS’s official worldwide intercultural learning (ICL) training? If so, this special training is for just for you!
In AFS, our life’s work is building bridges among differences, softening barriers to living life with cultural others, and probing the mysteries of unknown places and peoples. We do so not only to teach more wisely, train more effectively, and coach more appropriately, but also sometimes for the sheer pleasure of experiencing differences.Cultural differences among participants in classrooms, training sessions, and meetings create special challenges for facilitators. The approach that encourages dialogue among some participants may be exactly the one that discourages participation from others. Just when we assume that everything is working out, something may go mysteriously wrong. This workshop will explore the possibility that “something cultural is going on!”
This course is designed for AFS Intercultural Learning Program Qualifed Trainers to help them improve their facilitation skills in settings where participants do not share the same cultural styles.
